Copy and Increment Circuits |

Design Master allows you to combine several functions into one command with the Copy and Increment Circuits command. You can copy a device that is circuited, and have Design Master automatically circuit the copy of the device to a specified circuit. For example: if you were working on a school with a long hallway full of identical classrooms, you could design and circuit one classroom just right. Then, using this command, you could very quickly copy that prototype room around the drawing, all the while adding the new rooms and their loads to the panel schedules. The picture below shows two identical rooms, with room 103 being completely designed and circuited.
Using the Copy and Increment Circuits command, you could quickly complete the design for room 105. The circuiting, loops, and homerun are copied along with the receptacles.
To quickly complete a room design in this fashion: DM Electrical the command will begin like any normal copy routine. Select the devices you want to make copies of, and then place the new devices in the proper locations. At this point, when a normal copy routine would be finished, the Increment Circuits dialog box will appear.
Now you may assign circuits to the newly copied devices. The Increment Circuits dialog box is broken into two sections, one to the left of the arrow and one to the right. The section to the left explains the details of all the devices that you are copying. The section to the right allows you to define what the new devices will look like. Using the Panel and Circuit fields on the right side of the dialog box, you can select where you want the new devices to be circuited. You may stay within the same panel, and only increment the circuits, or you may move to an entirely new panel. Note: This allows you to copy rooms on the same floor and panel, or copy entire floor and just move the circuits to the panels serving that new floor. |
