One of the exceptions to the general guideline for manipulating devices comes when trying to move a device label. Labels are an attribute associated with the device and will move along with the device, but if you want to move the just the label, and not the device itself, you will need to use a different command.
To move a device label, go to
DM Electrical
Modify DevicesMove Device Label
Click on the label you want to move.
Locate the label in the new position and press the space bar.
The command is complete.
The Move Device Label command applies to the following device labels.

| • | Light Fixture Callouts, when they are a part of the light fixture block |
| • | One Line Device labels, in plan view only |
| • | Receptacle Labels |
| • | Equipment Callouts |
| • | Equipment Disconnect Labels |
