A homerun path allows you to add more intelligence to the way Design Master automatically loops a circuit. The following pictures show the difference between a automatic looping with and without a homerun run. Automatic Looping Without Homerun Path
Automatic Looping with Homerun Path
There are three steps to using a homerun path: creating the path, selecting the option to use a homerun path when inserting homeruns and loops, and inserting a homerun using the path. Creating a Homerun Path DM Electrical Starting with any device on the desired circuit, draw the path the homerun should follow. Press the space bar or enter key when finished, and a purple line will appear. When drawing a homerun path, keep in mind that using a homerun path tells Design Master to first loop all devices that cross the homerun path. The program then loops all other devices on the circuit to the nearest looped device.
Selecting the Homerun Path Option DM Electrical The Looping Options dialog box will appear.
Select Yes under the Use a Homerun Path field, then press OK. Inserting a Homerun and Loops using a Homerun Path Once you have both drawn the desired path and the homerun options have been set to use a path, when the Draw Homerun and Loops command is run, Design Master will ask which homerun path you wish to use. DM Electrical Once you select the circuits to homerun and loop, Design Master will ask you to select the path to use. Click on the path you wish to use, and Design Master will complete the looping and homerun routine. If you have set the homerun options to use a path, but run the Draw Homerun and Loops command and do not wish to use a homerun path, simply press the ENTER key when asked to choose a homerun path. Design Master will place the loops without following a specific homerun path. Using a homerun path is not an option when running the Draw Homerun Only command.
