Combining Homeruns |

To create a combined homerun, use either the Draw Homerun and Loops command, or the Draw Homerun Only command. Both commands are able to combine homeruns. Follow the standard procedure for these two functions; however, after you click to select the device you want your homerun to be drawn from, you can then click on a device from every other circuit you want to add to the homerun before you press the space bar.
Design Master will draw the loops between all the devices, removing the panel tag and leaving only the circuit tag by each one, and then prompt you to place the homerun. You will place the homerun the same way it typically is placed with the homerun functions. (See Drawing Homeruns and Loops) Once you have placed the homerun, the command is complete. When using Drawing Homeruns Only with combined homeruns, there are a few things to be aware of. If you unintentionally do not select a device on every circuit that was previously combined on the homerun, Design Master will place only the circuits you selected on the homerun. However, the loops will not change; therefore, you may wish to run this command again to make sure you have selected all the looped circuits for that homerun. Along the same lines, if you selected more circuits to combine on the homerun than you have looped together, the new homerun will reflect this but the loops will not be updated. You will either need to run the Draw Homerun and Loops command to update the loops, or rerun the Draw Homerun Only command in order to have the homerun match the looping.
When combining homeruns, you may choose to display a single arrow, or have an arrowhead for each circuit. You may also choose to combine neutral wires when appropriate, or to show separate neutrals for each circuit. The default settings are to show a single arrowhead and to combine neutrals where possible. To learn about how to change these settings, follow the links below. |
