One of the exceptions to the general guideline for manipulating devices comes when trying to erase part of a device. Devices are composed of multiple AutoCAD entities grouped together using the AutoCAD group command at the command line. Selecting part of the group results in the whole group being selected, which makes it difficult to erase only a part of the device, such as a label or leader.
To erase part of a device, go to
DM Electrical
Modify DevicesErase Part of Device
Click on the part you want to erase.
Design Master will remove the label.
The command is complete.
The Remove Part of Device command will erase any AutoCAD entity that you select with it.
