To create a generator, go to
DM Electrical One Line Devices Generator
A Generator dialog box will appear. To actually create a new generator, press the New button at the bottom of the dialog box. Another Generator dialog box will appear after Design Master asks you to enter the callout for the new generator you are creating.

Listed below are all the different fields and inputs found in the dialog box above. These fields all help to define the generator in some way and are divided into three main categories. The first portion focuses on the definition of the generator itself, followed by the fault analysis information, and then the specifications of the generator feeder wires.

Displays the current, connected KVA load on the generator.

Displays the current, connected amps load on the generator.

Power Factor

Ratio of output KW divided by output KVA.

Volts
|
The voltage and number of poles for the generator.

Number of Breakers
|
Sets the number of breakers available in the generator.

Plan View Block
|
There is only one option available when creating the plan view block, and that is Custom Rectangle. You must define the dimensions for each generator individually

Custom Dimension
|
Input for defining customized generator block sizes.
|
Layer System
|
Indicates on which layering system the generator block will be drawn.
|
Location
|
Field reserved for entering the physical location of the generator in the building.

Note 1
|
Creates a note that may be inserted with the generator on the one line diagram.
|
Note 2
|
Creates a note that may be inserted with the generator on the one line diagram.
|
Fault @ Generator (amps)
|
The fault current at the generator. Can be calculated by Design Master, or input manually.
|
The New, Copy, Save, Delete, Rename, and Find buttons work as they do for panels.
