Insert One Line Device |

Once the devices are connected in the database you may place them on the drawing. To insert a device on the drawing, go to DM Electrical The Insert One Line Diagram Device dialog box will appear.
The One Line Device field box on the left displays all the devices created in this project. It also shows how they are connected to each other using a tree pattern. Select the device on the left you wish to insert in the one line diagram. Select the block you wish to have represent the device from the Block field box to the right and press Insert. For the majority of the blocks, Design Master will take you to the drawing and will ask you to indicate the insertion point. Click to indicate where you wish to place the device. To place a panel block, see the detailed descriptions below. Once you have selected either Panel Box or Panel Box and Bus from the Block list, the program will ask you for an insertion point. This is one corner of the panel. You are then directed to indicate the size and shape of the panel box. Click when you have reached the desired size of the panel block. Note that if you are using the and Bus block, the size of the panel block will effect the direction in which the bus will be inserted. The bus will be inserted in a direction matching the longest side of the box. Therefore, a short, flat box will result in the bus being inserted horizontally and a tall, thin box will result in a vertical bus. (see below) The Design Master blocks also display each lug configuration slightly differently. (see below) Below shows a horizontal panel with standard lugs, a vertical panel with standard lugs, a vertical panel with double lugs, and a vertical panel with feed through lugs.
Once a one line device block has been placed on the drawing, to move, copy, rotate, or erase the block, use standard AutoCAD commands. Any associated labels will be moved, copied, rotated, or erased along with the one line block. Panel blocks are the only blocks that can be reshaped. To reshape a panel, use the AutoCAD grips functions. Grab any grip and use it to stretch and modify the panel block. Panel Before Reshaping

Notice that the bus does not shift along with the panel box. The bus is considered part of the feeder, so to change it, you must use the commands that allow you to edit feeders. |
