Revit MEP Comparison: 84 Circuit Panels

Thursday, April 21st, 2011

(Part of our ongoing series comparing features in Revit MEP and Design Master to make it clear why our software is better.)

The 2008 NEC deleted section 408.35, removing the limitation of 42 overcurrent protection devices on a panel. Adding support for panels with more than 42 circuits is currently on the Revit MEP wishlist.

In Design Master Electrical, that feature already exists. When you create a panel, you specify the number of circuits on it. The panel schedule that is created automatically includes the appropriate number of circuits. If you need to change the number of circuits on a panel during the design, this schedule is automatically updated. You don’t have to mess with creating new schedule templates or wait for us to update our software to support this code change.
