AutoCAD Freezes When Opening

Sometimes, when loading AutoCAD, it stops halfway through the load sequence. This is an AutoCAD bug that occurs when AutoCAD does not get a chance to close down properly. It is also very easy to fix.

To do so, you need to go to the Windows Task Manager. You can get to there by right-clicking on the task bar and selecting Task Manager. Select the Processes tab. If you sort that processes by Image Name, you should find a process called WSCommCntr1.exe at the very bottom.

To allow AutoCAD to finish loading, select this process and press the End Process button. When AutoCAD does not properly end this process, it prevents the next instance of AutoCAD from loading. Once you manually end it, AutoCAD can then finish loading.
