Copy Drawing

The Copy Drawing command is used to copy the current drawing. Copies of all of the devices on the drawing will be created in the database. Any devices that are connected to circuits will be connected on both drawings. The loads on these circuits will be doubled.

If you copy a drawing using Windows Explorer or the AutoCAD SAVEAS command, the database does not know if you intend to copy or rename the drawing. It is very easy to create significant errors in your drawings and database if you choose the wrong option.

Copying the drawing using this command will prevent these errors from happening.

To copy the current drawing, go to

Ribbon: DM Electrical->Utilities-> dm_dm-util ->Copy Drawing

Pulldown Menu: DM Electrical->Utilities->Copy Drawing

Copy Drawing Dialog Box

Utilities--Copy Drawing dialog box

New Drawing Name: The name of the new drawing.

Enter the New Drawing Name into the dialog box and press the OK button. A copy of the current drawing will be made using the new name.
