Create One-Line Block from This Drawing

The Create One-Line Block from This Drawing command is used to configure the current drawing your are in to work as a custom block in your one-line diagram.

You can manually create a slide for the block using the Create Slide command. See the Create Slide section for more information.

To configure the current drawing, go to

DM Electrical->Customization->Block Creation->Create One-Line Block from This Drawing

You will be prompted whether the block will be used as a feeder wire block.

Is this block going to be used as a feeder wire block? Yes / No

Yes: The block will be a feeder wire block. Feeder wire blocks are able to be inserted at the ends or in the middle of feeders. The block can also be used to represent other one-line devices or equipment connections on the one-line diagram.

No: The block will not be a feeder wire block. The block can only be used to represent other one-line devices or equipment connections on the one-line diagram. It cannot be used in a feeder.

Feeder Wire Block, No: If the block is not a feeder wire block, you will be prompted whether or not the block has any upstream connection points.

Does this block have an upstream connection point? Yes / No

Yes: You will be prompted to specify the location of the upstream connection point. This is the point that the feeder from the upstream device will connect to by default.

Specify upstream connection point:

You will be prompted whether or not the block has a second upstream connection point. The second point is used for the second upstream connection on transfer switches and UPSs.

Does this block have a second upstream connection point? Yes / No

Yes: You will be prompted to specify the location of the second upstream connection point.

Specify second upstream connection point:

No: The block will not have a second upstream connection point.

No: The block will not have an upstream connection point. If an upstream connection is required on the one-line diagram, it will connect to the insertion point of the block.

Feeder Wire Block, Yes: If the block is a feeder wire block, you will be prompted to specify the location of the upstream connection point. This is the point that the feeder from the upstream device will connect to by default.

Specify upstream connection point:

Feeder Wire Block, No: If the block is not a feeder wire block, you will be prompted whether or not the block has a downstream connection point. This is the point that the feeder to the downstream device will connect to by default.

Does this block have a downstream connection point? Yes / No

Yes: You will be prompted to specify the location of the downstream connection point. This is the point that the feeder to the downstream device will connect to by default.

Specify downstream connection point:

No: The block will not have an downstream connection point. If a downstream connection is required on the one-line diagram, it will connect to the insertion point of the block.

Feeder Wire Block, Yes: If the block is a feeder wire block, you will be prompted to specify the location of the downstream connection point. This is the point that the feeder to the downstream device will connect to by default.

Specify downstream connection point:

If the block is a feeder wire block, you will be prompted to specify the mirroring point. This point is displayed as a grip when the block is inserted. It is used to flip the block over the feeder line.

Specify mirroring point:
