Defining Floors

This tutorial teaches you how to define floors.

You will define a first and second floor. Floors can be defined in any drawing in your project.

Open drawing M-1.0.

Define Floor One

  1. Run the Floor List command. The Floor Information dialog box will open with floor One active.
    Ribbon: DM HVAC→Building Definition→  Floor List
    Pulldown Menu: DM HVAC→Building Definition→Floors & Roofs→Floor List

  2. Set Default Ceiling Height to 10.

  3. Set Floor-to-Floor Height to 13-6.

  4. Press the button to save your changes.

Define Floor Two

  1. Press the button. The New dialog box will open.

  2. Set New Floor Name to Two.

  3. Press the button to create the floor. Once it is created, you can modify the definition.

  4. Make the following changes to floor Two:

    1. Set Default Ceiling Height to 9.
    2. Set Floor-to-Floor Height to 12-6
    3. Check the ☐ Roof box.
    4. Set Roof Type ▾ to R19 on Wood.
  5. Press the button to save your changes.

  6. Press the button to close the dialog box.
