How to Insert Alignment Points on Multiple Drawings |

For this tutorial, work with the project in the "3-1 Alignment Points - Multiple Drawings" folder. Open drawing P1-0. Select: DM Plumbing Insert Alignment Point The Insert Alignment Point Area dialog box will appear. Set the name for the alignment point area to Supply, Underslab, the floor to Underslab, and check the Cold Water and Hot Water boxes, as shown below. Then press OK. Design Master Plumbing will ask you to specify an insertion point. Click so the insertion point is at the lower left hand corner of the building, as shown below. Design Master Plumbing will ask you to specify the rotation angle. The alignment point arrow should always point in the direction of north on the drawing. For this drawing, rotate the arrow until it is pointing up towards the top of the drawing as shown below, then click. This direction will vary in future projects depending upon how the building is oriented. The direction also might vary in a single project between drawings. For example, it might point one direction on the floor plans and another on the site plan. Open drawing P1-1. Select: DM Plumbing Insert Alignment Point The Insert Alignment Point Area dialog box will appear. Set the name for the alignment point area to Supply, Floor 1, the floor to 1, and check the Cold Water and Hot Water boxes, as shown below. Then press OK. Located the alignment point in the lower left hand corner of the building, pointing up, as shown below. Open drawing P1-2. Select: DM Plumbing Insert Alignment Point The Insert Alignment Point Area dialog box will appear. Set the name for the alignment point area to Supply, Floor 2, the floor to 2, and check the Cold Water and Hot Water boxes, as shown below. Then press OK. Located the alignment point in the lower left hand corner of the building, pointing up, as shown below. |
