Inserting Vertical Ducts

To insert a duct going vertically up or down, use the Insert Duct command.

Ribbon: DM HVAC->Ducts->  Insert Duct

Pulldown Menu: DM HVAC->Duct Centerlines->Insert Duct

Specify the location for the duct, then type V at the command line. The Duct Information dialog box will appear, allowing you to enter the ending elevation of the duct.

Press the OK button to continue drawing the duct.

You can set ducts to be automatically sized to odd or even measurements below a certain threshold within the project customization options.

Loop in Ductwork Error

Design Master HVAC cannot calculate the CFM for ductwork loops. You can solve this by running the Coordinate Drawings and Database command if you have no loops on the drawing, removing the loop, or modeling the loop differently.

Inserting a Pair of Pants Fitting

You can change the fitting at a duct tee to a pair of pants fitting using the Pair of Pants command.
