Custom Fixed Load Descriptions

Top  Previous  Next

To define a fixed load for a given circuit, go to:

DM Electrical arrow Circuiting and Homeruns arrow Circuiting

This will open the Circuiting dialog box. To define a fixed load, you will use the bottom right portion of the Circuiting dialog box.

fixed_load_descriptions

The following fields are titles at the top of columns: load type, total KVA, fixed conn, demand, and multiplier. The fields with white form boxes are available to be changed. If information is typed into the available fields, Design Master will calculate the remaining values after the Save Fixed button has been pressed.

See the table below for a description of each field option.

Description

This field allows you to enter a custom description that will be displayed on the panel schedule. This description will be in addition to the descriptions of any devices already circuited to this breaker.

Load Type

This field indicates the load type. Note the two blank spaces at the bottom of this column that are available for unique load types as defined using Design Master's customization options.

Total KVA

Design Master will calculate and display the total KVA load for that load type.

Fixed Conn

This is where you may enter the load for a fixed circuit. Multiple load types may be added to the same circuit.

Demand

This field displays the total calculated KVA load. Note the option to enter unique demand totals for the bottom two load types.

Multiplier

Displays the multiplier used to calculate the demand load for a circuit, the multiplier may be entered by hand for Kitchen and Diversified load types (as well as the bottom two load types).

Once you have entered a description or information, press Save Fixed to save the changes and to have Design Master perform the appropriate calculations.

The load now exists in the panel, and will appear in the panel schedule when you update it.
