Design Master allows you to choose whether compute the conduit length orthogonally or using the shortest distance. As a default, Design Master will compute the conduit length orthogonally.
To set how the conduit length is computed, go to

CustomizationOptionsEdit Project List
Expand the Homerun Options section of the Design Master Electrical Options dialog box.
Go to the Compute conduit length line. Under the Value column, use the pulldown menu (see below picture) to select Orthogonally or Shortest Distance. Then press OK.
All new conduits will be computed using the new customization settings. Any existing conduits will need to be redrawn to reflect the new customization settings.
