In order to find a particular piece of equipment on a given drawing, either to edit it, copy it, or learn more about it, you can use the Select From Database command, located in the Equipment dialog box. To bring up the Equipment dialog box:, go to DM Electrical
Press the Select from Database button in the top-left corner. The Find Equipment dialog box will appear listing all the equipment already created in the project. This will include equipment that has been created but not yet inserted into a drawing.
Select the equipment you wish to work with and press OK. You will be automatically returned to the Equipment dialog box, which will now contain the definitions of the piece of equipment you selected. (Note that if you are in the drawing and know where the piece of equipment you wish to know more about is located, you may simply use the Query Device command to bring up the Equipment dialog box.) You may now create a duplicate of this equipment, change the definitions of this equipment, or simply exit. To create a duplicate, press the Insert New button. The duplicate may have the same name or may be given a new name; regardless of the name, each piece of equipment is treated as a separate entity on the drawing and in the database. To change the definitions of the selected piece of equipment, make the desired changes and press Save. If you update the load on a piece of equipment, you will need to update the panel schedule by using the Update One-line Device Schedule command as you would for any electrical device for which the load has changed. |
