Create and Edit Lighting Groups |

To create and edit a lighting group, go to DM Electrical The Lighting Group dialog box will appear.
From the Lighting Group dialog box you may edit existing groups or you may press New to create a new lighting group. When you press New, a dialog box will appear asking for the name of the new group you are creating. Once you have typed a name in and pressed OK, you will be returned to the Lighting Group dialog box. At this point, the same process is used to create or edit a lighting group. The table below explains the data fields in the Lighting Group dialog box that are used to define lighting groups.
Set the values as necessary to define the current lighting group. Press Save to store any changes. To indicate which lights you wish to include in the lighting group, press the Add Lights button. Design Master will take you to the drawing and ask you to select objects. Click to choose which lights you wish to include and press Enter when you have finished selecting lights. Design Master will add the selected lights to the lighting group and return you to the Lighting Group dialog box. When you next return to the drawing, Design Master will have placed labels indicating the lighting group next to all lights in the group. To remove individual lights from a lighting group, press the Remove Lights button. Design Master will take you to the drawing and ask you to select objects. Clickto choose which lights you wish to remove from the lighting group. Press Enter when you have finished selecting lights to remove. Design Master will remove the lights and return you to the Lighting Group dialog box. When you next return to the drawing, Design Master will have removed the lighting group labels from the lights that were removed. To quickly see which lights are included in a given group, press the Highlight Lights in Group button. Design Master will highlight the lights in the lighting group indicated in the Lighting Group field at the time the Highlight Lights in Group button was pressed. You will be taken to the drawing; however, Design Master will not change the zoom setting of the drawing. Therefore, you may need to zoom in or out on the drawing to find all the highlighted lights. When you have finished viewing the highlighted lights, you may press Enter to return to the Lighting Group dialog box. For energy calculation purposes, Design Master provides the ability to indicate the area that encompasses the lighting groups. There are two ways to indicate the area from the Lighting Group dialog box. To draw the actual area, press the Draw as Area button. Design Master will take you to the drawing and ask for the first point. Indicate as many points as necessary, working around the desired shape of the area. When you have finished entering points, press Enter to finish the command. You will then be asked to click to locate the label for the area. To indicate the area by tracing the length of a wall and entering the height, press the Draw as Line button. Design Master will take you to the drawing and ask you for the first point. Enter the points to indicate the length of the wall or walls. When you have finished entering points, press Enter. You will then be asked to click to locate the label for the area. For both of these commands, the lighting group that is indicated in the Lighting Group field at the time the Draw button was pressed will be the one whose area is placed on the drawing. Copy To copy a lighting group, from the Lighting Group dialog box described above press Copy. The Copy dialog box will appear displaying the name of the old group.
Enter the name of the new group, and then press OK. The group is now copied. Save If you attempt to exit or move to a different group after editing, Design Master will ask you if you want to save any changes you have made. To save a lighting group after editing it, press Save. No dialog box will appear, but the group has been saved. Delete To delete a lighting group from the database, press the Delete button. Design Master will ask you if you are sure you want to delete the group, to prevent accidental loss of information.
Rename To rename a lighting group, press the Rename button. The Rename dialog box will appear and ask you to enter the new name for the group.
Find To select a specific lighting group to work with, use either the Find, Next, or Previous buttons. Next and Previous will move you to the lighting group before or after the current group, and the Find button will allow you to search a list of every group and select the appropriate one via the Find Record dialog, as seen below.
