Low Voltage Device Project and Master Schedule |

There are two ways to define low voltage devices for project use within a company: the Low Voltage Device Project Schedule and the Low Voltage Device Master Schedule. While the steps involved in using them are similar, the two schedules are used in different circumstances. Low Voltage Device Project Schedule The Low Voltage Device Project Schedule is useful when creating a schedule of low voltage devices that might not be necessary for every project a firm does. The low voltage devices created in the Low Voltage Device Project Schedule are available for insertion only in the current project. If similar low voltage devices are later needed in another project, the whole low voltage device project schedule may be imported into another project folder or to the master schedule. Low Voltage Device Master Schedule Defining low voltage devices in the Low Voltage Device Master Schedule is useful when many of a firm’s projects will involve the same standard low voltage devices. Fixtures created in this schedule are stored in the master database and are available for import and insertion in all projects in addition to the low voltage devices created in that project’s Low Voltage Device Project Schedule. To define a low voltage device, go to DM Electrical or DM Electrical
Make certain the Current Group field indicates the field in which you wish to create new low voltage devices. If it does not, press the Select Group button to select another group. Select New and type in the name of your new device when the New dialog box opens, then press OK.
You will be returned to the Low Voltage Device Project Schedule dialog box. Press Select Block and the Select Low Voltage Device Block dialog box will open. Select the low voltage device block you want your new device to look like or represent and press OK.
You will again be returned to the Low Voltage Device Project Schedule dialog box. Next you will need to add any loads or notes you wish to be associated with the device, either by checking the boxes near Load 1 and/or Load 2 and typing in the desired panel description, KVA, and demand factor or by typing in notes in the various Notes fields. When you have finished defining the device, press Save. If you have been working in the Project Schedule, the new low voltage device will now appear in your low voltage device selection menu when you run the Insert Low Voltage Device command. If you have been working in the Master Schedule, in order for the new low voltage device to appear in your low voltage device selection menu when you run the Insert Low Voltage Device command, you will need to import the device from the Master Schedule into the Project Schedule.
