Master Database Groups |

Light fixtures, receptacles, and rooms can all be grouped in the master database. These groups allow you to arrange your master schedules so that they can accommodate a variety of different situations. When you start a new project, one group is completely copied from the master to the project schedule. This allows you to quickly create a schedule for a project. Later, you can choose to import a different group. You can replace the current group or add to it. You can also choose to import individual items from different groups to augment your current schedule. Groups can be created and modified. When you are working in a master schedule, you are in a specific group. Any changes you make are for only that group. Adding new entries or deleting them only applies to that group. When you Select Group, you can create more groups. When a new group is created, there are no entries in it. If you copy a group, all of the entries in the group you are copying from are created in the new group. Example Groups Light fixtures by brand. You would want a general group that is empty in this case. Then, when making your project schedule, you could import from the master schedule, and browse by brand. Light fixtures by project type. You could have a general that is a generic project list. Then you could have a specific group for different project types. One could be a bank list, another a warehouse, another a church. When you start a project of that type, the schedule that you use is already created for you. Rooms by state. Each state has a different energy code that requires different power densities for different room types. Define the different types of rooms for each state. When you start a project, can easily pull in the state room definitions. |
