Redefine Block in this Drawing |

If you wish to make changes to every copy of a block, you may do so by changing the original drawing the block is based upon, then run the Design Master Redefine Block in this Drawing command. This will update every instance of the block in the drawing to match the new drawing block. To do this, go to DM Electrical 4 Customization 4 Redefine Block in this Drawing The Choose dialog box will appear as shown below.
It redefines the block in your drawing to match any changes made to the drawing that the block was originally based upon. You have two drawings: elecdemo.dwg, and dm_elec-rec1.dwg. Elecdemo has all your DM stuff in it. dm_elec-rec1 is the drawing used for a receptacle. When dm_elec-rec1 is inserted in elecdemo, it creates a block in elecdemo that looks like dm_elec-rec1. At this point, the block dm_elec-rec1 is completely independent of the drawing dm_elec-rec1. If you erase or modify drawing dm_elec-rec1, the definition in elecdemo of block dm_elec-rec1 does not change. This command allows you to update the block definition to match the new drawing. |
