Design Master is structured so that all drawings and the database reside in a single folder. The database contains information about each drawing. In order to assure that the database and drawings can be appropriately coordinated by Design Master, it is important to properly set up a new project. Begin by saving the drawing into a project folder. If the drawing is not saved in a project folder, the Design Master database will not be able to connect to it. Next you should set the dimscale to the appropriate level. Common settings include 96 for an 1/8 inch scale drawing and 48 for a 1/4 inch scale drawing. Most text and blocks within Design Master are sized according to the dimscale setting. To change the dimscale, type DIMSCALE at the command line, and then enter the appropriate value. Finally, you will want to set the alignment point for the drawings. See Insert Alignment Point for more information. This step may be done at any point in the design process; it does not have to be done before you start a new electrical project. Once a drawing has been properly saved and the dimscale is set, you may start a new electrical project. DM Electrical The Start New Electrical Project dialog box will appear.
The following table describes the various options available from the Start New Electrical Project dialog box.
When you have finished setting the fields in the Start New Electrical Project dialog box, you may press OK to start a new project. |
