To begin circuiting devices on drawing E1, go to

DM Electrical arrow Circuiting and Homeruns arrow Circuiting

The Circuiting dialog box will open as shown below.

circuiting1

Due to the size of this dialog box, if possible only portions of the box will be shown in future screen shots; however keep in mind that the entire Circuiting dialog box will be shown.

Under One Line Device, use the pulldown menu to select panel L1. Then select circuit 1 from the circuit list. (See below; areas to select are highlighted in yellow.)

Design Master Electrical will take you to the drawing and prompt you to select which objects you wish to place on circuit L1-1. Select the eight light fixtures in Conference 102 and press ENTER. Design Master Electrical will circuit the selected light fixtures to the current circuit. A circuit label will be placed on the drawing to indicate the circuit that the light fixtures are on (see below).

At the command line, Design Master Electrical is still prompting you to select devices to circuit to L1-1. For this tutorial, we want to circuit fixtures in another room to L1-3. Press ENTER at the command line. The current circuit will be incremented to the next circuit on the panel. The new circuit is displayed at the command line (see below).

Now, select the two light fixtures in Office 107 to connect them to circuit L1-3. Then connect the two light fixtures in Office 105 to circuit L1-5 and the two light fixtures in Office 103 to circuit L1-7, using ENTER to increment to the next circuit when necessary. When you have finished, your drawing should match the one shown below.

When you have finished circuiting the fixtures in Office 103 to circuit L1-7, press ENTER twice to return to the Circuiting dialog box. Your circuit list should now match the one shown below.

Next, you will circuit the piece of equipment and the receptacles. Press Exit to close the Circuiting dialog box. Open drawing E2 and go to

DM Electrical arrow Circuiting and Homeruns arrow Circuiting

From the circuit list, select circuit L1-38. Press Circuit Devices, which will take you to the drawing. Select AHU-1 and press ENTER to  connect it to circuit L1-38. Press ENTER twice to return to the Circuiting dialog box. Circuit L1-38 should now include a 3-pole breaker and match the one shown below.

Select circuit L1-2 and press Circuit Devices. Connect the GFCI receptacles in Lobby 101 to circuit L1-2, the four receptacles in Office 104 to circuit L1-4, and the Quad receptacles in both Offices 105 and 107 to circuit L1-6. Use the ENTER key to increment to the next circuit when necessary. Press ENTER twice when you are finished to return to the Circuiting dialog box. Your circuit list should match the one shown below.

Next, you will circuit the parking lot fixtures in drawing E1. Go to

DM Electrical arrow Circuiting and Homeruns arrow Circuiting

Circuit the parking lot light fixtures to panel H1. First, select panel H1 from the One Line Device pulldown menu in the Circuiting dialog box. Select circuit H1-7 from the circuit list (Circuit H1-1,3,5 should have transformer T1 connected to it) and press Circuit Devices.

On the drawing, connect the bottom two parking lot (S) fixtures to circuit to H1-7. Connect the left two S fixtures to H1-9, the top two S fixtures to circuit H1-11, and the right two S fixtures to circuit H1-13. Use the ENTER key to increment to the next circuit when necessary. Press ENTER twice when you are finished to return to the Circuiting dialog box. Your circuit list should match the one shown below.

Because circuits H1-7 through H1-13 only have 0.8 KVA each, we will combine these 4 circuits into 2 circuits. To do this, we will re-circuit the devices to H1-11 and H1-13 and connect them to H1-7 and H1-9 instead. To re-circuit a device, from the Circuiting dialog box, select the circuit you wish to place the devices on. In this case, select circuit H1-7. Press Circuit Devices. On the drawing, connect the top two S devices to H1-7 and the right two S devices to H1-9. Use the ENTER key to increment to the next circuit when necessary. Press ENTER twice when you are finished to return to the Circuiting dialog box. Your circuit list should match the one shown below. Note that when Design Master Electrical connected the selected S devices to new circuits, it also automatically disconnected them from the circuits on which they had previously been placed, such that circuits H1-11 and H1-13 no longer have light fixtures connected to them.

You have now circuited all the devices on the drawing. Next, you will use Design Master Electrical's Circuiting dialog box to model an existing load.
