Cable Types

Allows you to create and modify cable sizes and cable size groups.

Opens the Cable Types dialog box:

Group Section​

Cable type groups are used to organize sets of cable types. For example, each group can correspond to different insulation types or manufacturers.

  •  Group: ▾ Sets the current group. The cable types listed all belong to the current group.

  •   Creates a new group.

  •   Deletes the current group.

  •   Renames the current group.

Cables Section​

Each row in the grid lists a cable type in the current group.

  •  Name A description of the cable type. This value is for informational purposes and is used when selecting the cable type in other dialog boxes.

  •  Label How the cable type will be displayed in annotation tags and schedules.

  •  Resistance The resistance for a single run of the cable type. For values, use NEC Table 8 or the specifications from the cable manufacturer.

  •   Creates a new cable type. The new cable type will be added to the bottom of the list when it is created. When you close and reopen the dialog box, the cable type will be sorted to the correct location in the list based upon the Resistance.

  •   Deletes the current cable type.
