Fire Alarm Family Core Library
The FireBIM installer includes a core library of fire alarm panel and device model families, stored in C:\ProgramData\Design Master Software\FireBIM\Content\Model Families\Generic. This core library is intended to provide a starting point for FireBIM users who do not already have a library of preferred families for Revit fire alarm design. You are free to expand upon the core library as you see fit, either by further defining and adding features to the existing families, or replacing them with families you find or create yourself.
You are not required to use the core library. Other families will also work with FireBIM as long as they are defined properly. Visit the Family Categories for Panels & Devices and Electrical Connectors sections of the Fire Alarm Design Basics in Revit page for more information.
Features of families in the core library include:
- LOD 200 geometry
- the appropriate Family Category and Electrical Connector types
- FireBIM shared parameters for panels and devices (these parameters can be added to your families through automation or by running the
FireBIM Design→ command)
Family Edit - annotation symbols that match the default riser diagram graphics provided with FireBIM
- pre-configured riser diagram graphics
