Making Changes: Don't Modify the Shared Parameters

When using FireBIM, make changes to the model using the  Panel Edit,  Circuit Edit, and  Device Edit commands.

danger

Do not make changes to the shared parameters used by FireBIM, either through the Properties panel, Revit schedules, or Revit panel schedules. Those values are used only for output purposes. They are not used for input. FireBIM will overwrite any changes you make to those values the next time an update happens.

Riser Diagram Labels

Parameters used in graphics and labels on the riser diagram are also for output purposes only.

To change the values of FireBIM shared parameters displayed in riser diagram labels, use the  Edit command.

To change the values of other parameters being displayed in riser diagram labels, such as shared parameters used by your company, use the  Highlight Device command to locate the device in the model and change the parameter there.

Circuit Descriptions

The Revit Load Name parameter for circuit descriptions is also controlled by FireBIM.

Using standard Revit, you would change the circuit description in the Revit model or on the Revit panel schedule. When using FireBIM, use the  Circuit Edit command instead.
