Draw Wires for Circuits on Plan Views

You can use the Revit Systems→Wire commands to draw wires between circuited devices on plan views. FireBIM determines device ordering on circuits using those drawn wires.

Device ordering affects the following features:

• Device address numbering for annotation tags
• The order in which circuited devices are inserted on riser diagrams
• Point-to-point voltage drop calculations
• Circuit lengths when using FireBIM-calculated values

When drawing wires to or from a device, hover your cursor over the device until it snaps to a Point, which indicates an electrical connector on the device. Drawn wires must connect to these Points to be associated with the circuit.

If wires are not drawn, FireBIM will approximate the device order based upon distance from the panel. If wires are only drawn to some devices, non-wired devices will be ordered after wired devices.
