Modifying a Device

Set information used in calculations on devices.

Start in the FIRST FLOOR FP plan view.

The tutorial project has been configured to use milliamps for current in the Revit Project Units command; therefore, the load values specified in this section are in milliamps. When using FireBIM in your own projects, if they are set to use amps, you will need to enter load values in amps.

Modify the Manual Pull Station​

  1. Run the FireBIM Design→  Device Edit command.

  2. Select the manual pull station near the southwest corner on the plan view. The Device Edit dialog box will open with the device selected.

  3. Set Standby Load ▾ to Custom and enter 0.2 in the field provided.

  4. Set Alarm Load ▾ to Custom and enter 0.2 in the field provided.

  5. Press the button to close the dialog box.

Modify Smoke Detectors​

  1. Right-click a smoke detector on the plan view and select Select All Instances > In Entire Project from the context menu.

  2. Run the FireBIM Design→  Device Edit command. The Device Edit dialog box will open with all of the smoke detectors selected.

  3. Set Standby Load ▾ to Custom and enter 0.3 in the field provided.

  4. Set Alarm Load ▾ to Custom and enter 0.3 in the field provided.

  5. Press the button to close the dialog box.
