Modifying a Device Family

Set information used in calculations on device families.

Start in the FIRST FLOOR FP plan view.

info

The families being modified in this section have been configured to use milliamps for current in the Revit Project Units command; therefore, the load values specified in this section are in milliamps. When configuring your own families, if they are set to use amps, you will need to enter load values in amps.

Modify the Ceiling-Mounted Horn/Strobe Family

  1. Select a ceiling-mounted horn/strobe on the plan view and run the Revit Modify | Fire Alarm Devices→  Edit Family command. The family file will open.

  2. Run the FireBIM Design→  Family Edit command. The Family Edit dialog box will open.

  3. Select the 15cd family type in the list and make the following changes:

    1. Set Strobe ▾ to Yes and set Strobe Output Rating ▾ to 15 cd.
