Customizing Voltage Drop Calculations

Modify project-level settings to customize voltage drop calculations.

Start in the CALCULATION SCHEDULES drafting view.

Modify Project Settings​

  1. Run the FireBIM Design→  Customization→ Project Options command. The Options dialog box will open.

  2. In the Voltage Drop section, make the following changes:

    1. Set Minimum circuit voltage to 19.
    2. Set Calculation method to End-of-line.

  3. Press the button to close the dialog box.

  4. Run the FireBIM Design→  Schedule Update command.

  5. Select the voltage drop calculation schedule on the drafting view. The schedule will update to reflect the changes.

Modify Cable Properties​

  1. Run the FireBIM Design→  Customization→ Cable Types command. The Cable Types dialog box will open.

  2. Select the Copper, Uncoated group from the list.

  3. For the #18 cable row, set Resistance to 12.

  4. Press the button to close the dialog box.

  5. Run the FireBIM Design→  Schedule Update command.

  6. Select the voltage drop calculation schedule on the drafting view. The schedule will update to reflect the changes.
