Configuring Family Graphics

Configure the riser diagram graphics for device families so those graphics will be pre-configured for instances in the Revit model.

Start in the FIRST FLOOR FP plan view.

Configure the Ceiling-Mounted Horn/Strobe Family

Select a ceiling-mounted horn/strobe on the plan view and run the Revit Modify | Fire Alarm Devices→ Edit Family command. The family file will open.
Run the FireBIM Design→ Family Edit command. The Family Edit dialog box will open.
Select every family type in the list. You can hold CTRL or SHIFT to select multiple types, or select a type in the list and type CTRL+A to select all.
Set Riser Group ▾ to Notification.
Set Riser Graphic ▾ to Horn/Strobe, Ceiling-Mounted.
Set Strobe ▾ to Yes.
Select the 15cd family type in the list.
Set Strobe Output Rating ▾ to 15 cd.
Repeat steps 7 and 8 to set the appropriate Strobe Output Rating ▾ for the 30cd, 75cd, and 110cd family types.

For your projects, if you plan to use your own fire alarm families that have candela ratings already defined in parameters, the Based on parameter setting allows you to use that information. See Using Non-FireBIM Parameters for FireBIM Settings for more information.
Press the button to close the dialog box.
Run the Revit Create / FireBIM Design→ Load into Project / Load into Project and Close command to update the family and its parameter values in the project.

You do not need to save this family file. In future projects, if you do not save modified families, the changes made will only be used for that project.
