tip

Run the Update Room Labels command after changing the room label settings to update room labels already inserted on the drawing.

Values in the Key ☰ column are listed alphabetically below.

  •  Area The area of the room in square feet based upon the room outline inserted on the drawing.

  •  CU The coefficient of utilization of the room. This value includes the coefficient of utilization for the light fixtures and all depreciation factors.

    CU=CoefficientofUtilization×LampDepreciation×DirtDepreciationCU = Coefficient\>of\>Utilization \times Lamp\>Depreciation \times Dirt\>Depreciation

    If the IES file associated with the light fixture callout is well-formed, it can be used to calculate the CoefficientofUtilizationCoefficient\>of\>Utilization. It is based upon the IES file (see the Light Fixture Project Schedule section for more information), the room cavity ratio based upon the room outline inserted on the drawing, and the Wall Cavity Reflectance, Effective Ceiling Cavity Reflectance, and Effective Floor Cavity Reflectance (see the Edit Rooms and Room Project Schedule sections for more information).

    If the IES file is not well-formed and cannot be used to calculate the coefficient of utilization, or there is no IES file, then a default value of 0.7 is used.

    LampDepreciationLamp\>Depreciation See the Light Fixture Project Schedule section for more information.

    DirtDepreciationDirt\>Depreciation See the Edit Rooms and Room Project Schedule sections for more information.

  •  FC Actual The actual lighting level in the room in foot-candles.

    FCActual=TotalLumens×CUAreaFC\>Actual = {{Total\>Lumens \times CU} \over Area}

    TotalLumensTotal\>Lumens is the total lumens for all of the light fixtures inserted in the room on the drawing. The lumens for each light fixture is based upon the Number of Lamps and Lumens / Lamp values set in the Light Fixture Project Schedule.

  •  FC Desired The desired lighting level for the room in foot-candles. This value is specified in the room itself or in the room type. See the Edit Rooms section for more information.

  •  IC The illuminance category specified in the room project schedule. See the Room Project Schedule section for more information.

  •  LPD Actual The actual watts per square foot in the room. Based upon the total watts for all of the fixtures in the room divided by the room area.

  •  LPD Allowed The watts per square foot allowed in the room specified in the room project schedule. See the Room Project Schedule section for more information.

  •  Perimeter The perimeter of the room in feet based upon the room outline inserted on the drawing.

  •  RCR The room cavity ratio of the room.

    RCR=(CeilingHeightWorkspaceHeight)×Perimeter×2.5AreaRCR = {{(Ceiling\>Height - Workspace\>Height) \times Perimeter \times 2.5} \over Area}

    CeilingHeightCeiling\>Height See the Edit Rooms and Floor List sections for more information.

    WorkspaceHeightWorkspace\>Height See the Edit Rooms and Room Project Schedule sections for more information.

  •  Type The type of the room, taken from the room project schedule. See the Edit Rooms and Room Project Schedule sections for more information.
