DM Photometrics Feature
Real sites are not flat open lots. DM Photometrics accounts for the obstructions and grade changes that affect actual lighting levels: building walls, canopy overhangs, sloped terrain, and tree canopies all block or redirect light in ways that a simple point-by-point calculation would miss.
By modeling these elements, your photometric report reflects what a person standing on the site will actually experience — giving you confidence that your design meets specification before construction begins.
Define building footprints and overhang geometry. DM Photometrics calculates shadow cast and excludes blocked areas from light contribution automatically.
Model terrain elevation changes so illuminance calculations are referenced to the actual ground plane, not a flat assumption that may not match the site.
Add tree locations and canopy radii to account for seasonal or permanent obstruction. Useful for parking lot and pathway designs where mature landscaping is present.
“Now I can, within one day, complete a site lighting plan. This has a positive bottom-line impact on the whole job.”
