ElectroBIM Feature

Fault Calculations

ElectroBIM is an add-in for Revit that calculates the available fault current at all of the panels and transformers in a project.

The fault is calculated based upon the current from the utility and from any motors in the Revit model. Feeder and branch circuit lengths are calculated based upon the position of electrical equipment — you can override specific feeders when the calculated length is not correct.

A schedule of the fault current at each piece of equipment can be created and viewed in Revit. Fault current that exceeds the AIC rating is highlighted in the schedule. Calculations use industry standard IEEE Std 242-2001.

Model-Derived Lengths

Feeder and branch circuit lengths come from equipment positions in Revit — override specific feeders when needed.

AIC Rating Check

Fault current exceeding the AIC rating for any piece of equipment is automatically highlighted in the schedule.

IEEE 242-2001 Standard

Calculations follow the industry-standard method for consistent, code-compliant results.

There's no learning curve with ElectroBIM. Just push one button and the calculations start working.
