Upgrading AutoCAD

Friday, March 12th, 2010

When you upgrade AutoCAD, it is not necessary to upgrade or reinstall Design Master. Our software includes all the files necessary to run in all versions of AutoCAD.

When you first run the new version of AutoCAD, it will ask you if you want to migrate your settings from your previous version. If you say yes, the Design Master menus will be transferred automatically. Depending upon the versions of AutoCAD involved, it might be necessary to load a different Design Master menu. The new menu will automatically be loaded for you.

If you say no to transferring your settings, you will need to load the Design Master menus in the new version of AutoCAD. To do this, open the “install.dwg” file in your Design Master “Admin” folder. Then, load the appropriate VLX file to load the menus. There are more detailed instructions regarding which VLX file to load in the drawing file.
