Inserting Items on the One-Line Riser Diagram

Thursday, October 7th, 2010

To insert items on the one-line riser diagram, use the “DM Electrical->One-Line Diagram->Insert One-Line Device” command. You can insert the item as a panel or as a block.

The “Panel Box and Bus” and “Panel Box” blocks are special Design Master Electrical entities. When you insert a device using one of these blocks, you specify the size of the panel box on the drawing. The “Panel Box and Bus” block will insert a bus bar in the middle of the panel box. The bus bar can be toggled on or off using the “DM Electrical->One-Line Diagram->Show Bus on One-Line Device” and “DM Electrical->One-Line Diagram->Hide Bus on One-Line Device” commands.

Would prefer to have set/fixed one line device sizes (panels, transformers, etc.) when inserted into one line diagram. Do not like custom creating size each time an item inserted.

  2. New in the last release is the “DM Electrical->Customization->Block Creation->Create One-Line Block from One-Line Diagram” command. We haven’t documented or advertised it well, but it helps with what you are asking for.

Insert a panel, get it sized right, and insert the desired labels. Run this command and select the panel. It will create a new block for the list on the right that is one of our panels, pre-sized and with labels included.

When you insert panels, you can then select this as your block and have everything come in looking right.
