One-line riser diagrams have existed in the software since 2004. It is a power feature that is not used by most of our customers.
The key benefit of the one-line feature is the automatic coordination between it and the rest of your electrical design. When you change a panel name, update a feeder size, or change an AIC rating, the one-line diagram is automatically updated with the new information.
The biggest hurdle to using this feature is customizing the graphics to match your company’s current standards. It can be tricky to create your first block, but once you have, it is then a matter of spending the time to create the rest. We are happy to help you with the customization process. The best way to get started is to send a copy of a one-line from a previous project to [email protected] We will take a look at it for you and let you know how to customize Design Master Electrical to match your current drawings.
When drawing a panel with a main breaker is shows a lug and a breaker. This causes confusion with the people we have looking at the drawings. We would prefer not to see the lug symbol so there is no confusion between panels with main lug and main breakers.
Also when a panel/switch board is inserted we currently draw the outline of the panel and the lug and/or main OPD is placed automaticly. We would like to place the lug and/or OPD first so it is easier to line up devices.
I would like to use Design Master more to create one lines but currently it is still faster to use other methods.
Thanks for the feedback. I’ve added these two suggestions to our wish list. You’ll need to go vote for them:
