ElectroBIM 2.2.1.0

Beta released April 16, 2024.

The following is a list of new and updated features in ElectroBIM 2.2.1.

Upsize Wires Automatically for Voltage Drop

Conductors can be automatically increased in size to account for voltage drop.

Settings for controlling the wire sizing can be found in the Project Options command. You can enable or disable upsizing in your project for feeders and branch circuits, as well as set the maximum voltage drop for each.

A new Voltage Drop Review command has been added. This command will create a Revit schedule that displays which conductors have been upsized, the new wire size, and the original wire size for comparison.

New Instance Edit Dialog Box

The Instance Edit dialog box has been updated.

The most noticable improvement is support for editing multiple instances at once; simply select the devices you want to edit, then run the command.

Import Wire Lengths from EVOLVE Electrical

Wire lengths from EVOLVE Electrical can be imported back into ElectroBIM using the new EVOLVE->Import command. These wire lengths will be used for voltage drop and fault calculations.

Breaker Search

A Search button has been added to the OCP Device Settings dialog box displayed when selecting a breaker curve. This feature will make it easier to find your desired breakers in our database.

Service Ground Letter for Feeder IDs

A new option has been added to the Project Options command to control the letter used to note a service ground on feeder IDs.

Previously, we used J for "supply side service jumper" from NEC 250.102(C). J is still available as an option if you want to continue using it, and will be the default setting for current projects.

For new projects, the default will be T for "transformer", which is the most common situation where you would use a service ground instead of an equipment ground.

You can also select S for "service".

Support for Revit 2025

Revit 2025 is supported.

There was a large internal change in Revit from .Net Framework 4.8 to .Net 8.0. This change doesn't have any obvious changes to users at the moment, and is good for the future development of Revit. However, it did require corresponding large internal changes to our software, which is why compatibility has been added to the beta release rather than released as a patch.
