Upgrading AutoCAD

Posted on March 12th, 2010. Last updated on June 15th, 2023.

Before you upgrade AutoCAD, go to the Installation & Updates page for the add-ins you’re using and update to the latest version. Make sure Design Master has updated successfully, then upgrade AutoCAD.

When you first run the new version of AutoCAD, it will ask if you want to migrate your settings from your previous version. If you say Yes, the Design Master menus will be transferred automatically. Depending upon the AutoCAD version, it may be necessary to load a different Design Master menu. The new menu will automatically be loaded for you.

If you say No to transferring your settings, you will need to load the Design Master menus in the new version of AutoCAD. Visit the Installation & Updates page for the add-ins you’re using and follow the instructions under Configure AutoCAD.
