What to Do When Design Master Crashes

Tuesday, September 28th, 2010

When our software crashes, here is what you can do to help us:

  • If you get a dialog box asking you if you want to submit the bug to us, press the Yes button. We read and respond to every crash report that is submitted. Quite often we are able to use the information to fix the problem and immediately send a patch back to you.
  • If submitting the bug to us does not work, you can send the information manually. We need a copy of the DWG file where the error happened, a copy of the DM file, and the text from the command line. We do not need any xrefs or other supporting drawing files. Send the bug to [email protected].
  • If Design Master crashes your program to the desktop, restart the program and see if the error happens again. If it does, send us an email at [email protected] letting us know about the error. The more information you can provide about the cause of the error, the better our chances of fixing it. However, you are welcome to submit crashes that appear to be random and we will work with you to find and fix the cause.
  • Sometimes, files are too large to be sent via email or other email-related issues may arise. You can use the Send Files to Design Master Software page to send us your files. You can also provide your email address and any additional information about the crash, such as the text from the command line.
