Switch Rotation in Schedules

Friday, November 8th, 2013

Problem: Your switch blocks are rotated incorrectly in your schedule.

Solution: Run the Options command.

Ribbon: DME: Customization-> Project Customization-> dm_dm-optionP Options

Pulldown Menu: DM Electrical->Customization->Options->Edit Project List

Find the Switches section. Change the setting of the Switch rotation option. Insert your switch schedule.

If the switches are still not correct, keep changing the option until you find the one that makes it look right.

Explanation: Switch blocks in the switch schedule are rotated differently from devices in other schedules.

For most devices, the rotation is not very important, as long as it fits nicely. For switches, the switch typically stands vertically so the S looks correct.

How the S looks depends upon how you created your blocks.  There is no way to know automatically how to rotate the switch block so it is correct.

The Switch rotation option exists so you can tell the software how to rotate the switch blocks. Otherwise, it is forced to guess and will sometimes be wrong.
