Inserting Feeder IDs for One-Line Diagram Users

Monday, November 30th, 2015

In Design Master 8.4, we added a new way to insert feeder IDs.

Previously, feeder IDs needed to be added manually using the Insert Feeder ID command. This method still works, but the command is now partially hidden to discourage its use. On the ribbon, if you select the One-Line Diagram label below the icons, more commands will drop down.

The new method inserts feeder IDs inside feeder lines automatically. To view and modify this setting, run the Options command.

Ribbon: DME: Customization-> Project Customization-> dm_dm-optionP Options

Pulldown Menu: DM Electrical->Customization->Options->Edit Project List

In the One-Line Diagram section, find the Insert feeder IDs inside feeder lines option. By default, this is set to Yes on new projects. On existing projects, it will initially be set to No so duplicate IDs are not inserted. You can change the value to Yes to use it on an existing project.

When this option is set to Yes, a feeder ID is inserted in each feeder. You can move the ID along the feeder, but it cannot be moved off or removed. This ensures each feeder is correctly labeled.
