Extra One-Line Diagram Notes

Friday, February 22nd, 2019

Q: Is there a way to add notes that only appear on the one-line diagram to an entity?

A: One-line diagram notes can be added to devices and feeders with the dm_elec-old-labels  Insert and Modify Labels command:

  1. Run the command and select the entity to which you want to add a note.
  2. Near the bottom of the dialog box are Extra One-Line Note labels. Enter your note in the Prefix or Suffix field.
  3. Check the box in the Display column for the label, then press the OK button.
  4. Insert the label on the drawing the same way as any other one-line diagram label.

These notes are for informational purposes only and do not appear anywhere else in the project.

For more information about this command, visit the Insert and Modify Labels page of the Design Master Electrical user manual.

This training video teaches you how to troubleshoot certain point-by-point photometrics issues, model special use cases and distribution equipment, and more in Design Master Electrical for AutoCAD.

Showing Voltage Drop on First Panel

You can set a voltage drop on the first panel in a project by connecting it to an upstream panel that is set to not be shown on the voltage drop schedule.

Doubled (or Tripled) Loads in Panels

Doubled or tripled loads on panels are usually the result of having copies of a drawing. The copied devices need to be erased or connected to different circuits.

Foot-candle Levels Inside Building Outlines

When drawing building outlines for outdoor photometrics, make sure you use the Insert Photometric Solid: Rectangle or Shape commands if you do not want foot-candle levels to be measured inside the area.

Solar/Photovoltaic Systems in Design Master Electrical

Design Master can’t perform calculations for DC systems like solar arrays, but you can model them as generators to connect the AC side to your system.

DM Entities Insert Skewed or in the Wrong Location

If your Design Master entities come in skewed or in a different location than the one you specified, try resetting your drawing view to “Top” and reinserting.
