For the second year in a row, Design Master Software conducted a survey of engineers and designers in the MEP industry to learn about their experiences using building information modeling (BIM). The survey was conducted online. A link to the survey was included in our monthly newsletter, on various LinkedIn groups, on Autodesk's AutoCAD MEP forum, on AUGI's Revit MEP forum, and at the bottom of our MEP Ninja comic pages.
We first conducted this survey last year. Comparing this year's results with last year's, we see two significant trends in the industry:
Last month we held the Design Master User Conference 2011 in Cincinnati. It was by far the best conference we have ever had!

Last year, we started using a public wish list for feature requests for our software. In that time, 188 users have voted on 128 ideas. We have finished 24 of those ideas and included them in our software.

We have continued to post MEP Ninja comics over the last month. Go take a look if you have not seen the new ones. You can subscribe to be sent a weekly email when one is posted at the bottom of the page.
Do you have an idea for a ninja story line? Guest contributions are welcome! Share your ideas and we will work them into future comics.
Our customer story for October is Webb Engineering, an MEP engineering design firm based in Mebane, NC.
What brought me back to Design Master was the higher productivity it offers for a small operation like mine. I don’t have a staff of CAD people to help me work with a cumbersome application like AutoCAD MEP or Revit.
